We investigate the photothermal conversion properties of nanostructured thin films and their applications. In particular, we use these properties to generate micro- and nanobubbles in microfluids and study their behavior and the surrounding convection.
Bubbles spontaneously oscillate when the temperature distribution and solute concentration distribution around small bubbles are adjusted. We are trying to elucidate the principle of this oscillation and control the collective oscillation of the bubble array. We expect that the motion of individual bubbles will cooperate to produce a large force that collectively transfers liquid and heat.
